Mother of missing Florida 10-year-old charged with child neglect

In a troubling development from Margate, Florida, authorities have apprehended Passha Davis, the mother of a 10-year-old girl who has been unaccounted for over several months. Davis, 34, faces charges of child neglect and as of Wednesday, remains detained in the Broward County Jail.

The missing child, Gabrielle Terrelonge, became the focus of a statewide Missing Child Alert issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on Monday. The alert was triggered after Gabrielle’s father, residing in central Florida, reported her missing on October 29. The young girl was last reportedly seen in June, accompanying her mother at a Walmart, but her disappearance went unreported until Davis’s October arrest for shoplifting.
