LAKE ALFRED, Fla. – An incident involving a substitute teacher unfolded in the parking lot of a school in Polk County, leading to his arrest on a DUI charge, the sheriff’s office reported on Tuesday morning.
A vigilant school resource officer at Lake Alfred Polytech Academy noticed Micah Alan Dyal, 44, from Haines City, as he was attempting to reverse out of a parking space.
According to details shared by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Dyal displayed numerous clear indications of being impaired, notably a pronounced smell of alcohol on his breath, as they conducted a field sobriety test.
The sheriff’s office also mentioned that Dyal agreed to a blood test, with samples being sent for analysis to ascertain his blood alcohol content.
In response to the incident, Polk County Public Schools issued an official statement regarding his arrest.
