ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida residents are about to face a stark change in the weather following an unusually warm Christmas.
Early Tuesday morning, a powerful cold front is set to sweep through Central Florida, bringing with it a significant drop in temperatures.
By the time Tuesday morning arrives, most of Central Florida will experience temperatures plummeting into the 40s.
Despite some cloud cover in the afternoon, temperatures will struggle to rise above the 50s on Tuesday.
Wednesday morning is expected to be the coldest of this recent temperature drop.
Those living northwest of I-4 should prepare for the possibility of a freeze, with temperatures potentially falling to 32 degrees or below.
Frost will be possible across all of Central Florida west of I-95.
If you have sensitive plants, you’ll want to cover them starting Tuesday night.
It will remain cold New Year’s Eve.
The 70s will return for the weekend.
