GBI investigates shooting in Warrenton

WARRENTON, Ga. () – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is examining a shooting that occurred on Wednesday in Warrenton, following a request from the Warrenton Police Department.

The authorities state that Randall Boyd, a 35-year-old resident of Warrenton, is suspected of entering the Jet Convenience Store on Main Street and firing at a woman on May 14. Fortunately, no one else in the store was harmed during the incident.

After the shooting, Boyd allegedly left the store, but while driving on Legion Drive, he lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into the woods beside the road. Boyd was discovered in the vehicle with what appeared to be a gunshot wound and was declared dead at the crash site by the Warren County Coroner.

The crash is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.
