George Santos says he's 'looking into' repaying fraud victims

Former Republican Congressman George Santos, recently released from federal prison following a commutation granted by President Trump, is now offering a different perspective on whether he intends to compensate the victims he previously defrauded.

Initially, Santos was required to repay over $370,000 in restitution as part of his 87-month sentence for wire fraud and identity theft. However, the president’s clemency order has absolved him of these financial obligations. During his recent media appearances aimed at restoring his public image, Santos indicated to some outlets that he had no plans to repay the money since he was no longer legally required to do so.

In a change of tone during an appearance on Wednesday’s episode of “CUOMO,” Santos suggested he might attempt to make amends.
