List of child welfare research grants marked for termination in mistaken HHS email

An official from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services accidentally sent out an email on Wednesday revealing plans to cancel over 150 research grants focused on improving the well-being of children and families.

These grants are managed by the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation and are distributed nationwide. According to an HHS spokesperson, the email included “outdated and pre-decisional information,” but they did not rule out the possibility that some grants might be discontinued.

Here is a list of grants that were tagged for cancellation at various universities, nonprofits, and other organizations. The specific amounts for each grant weren’t mentioned.
