HOOPESTON, Ill. (WCIA) — A 17-year-old from Hoopeston was cited for an alleged hit-and-run crash Thursday, and his vehicle was towed.
Just after 5:10 p.m. on October 2nd, Hoopeston Police officers arrived at the crossroads of S Market and E Orange Streets. Reports indicate that a Chevrolet pickup (designated as unit 1), driven by a 17-year-old male from Hoopeston, was heading north on Market. It entered the intersection and collided with another Chevrolet pickup (unit 2), driven by a 21-year-old man from Hoopeston, traveling west on Orange.
Unit 2 had to be towed away, but thankfully no injuries occurred. Although unit 1 initially left the scene, it was subsequently found. The driver of unit 1 was given a notice to appear in Vermilion County Court, his vehicle was towed, and he received several citations.
