The House of Representatives is moving swiftly this week to resolve the partial government shutdown that began on Saturday. Lawmakers in the lower chamber are set to deliberate on a comprehensive funding package. This package comprises five full-year appropriations bills alongside a temporary measure designed to maintain funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at its current levels for an additional two weeks. The Senate had already given its approval to this package last week.
