I replaced my worn-out couch with CHITA’s Sophia sofa

TAMPA, Fla. (BLOOM) – I didn’t require a complete home makeover; all I needed was improved furniture, and the Sophia 2-Piece Feather Modular Sofa from CHITA delivered just that.

The sofa arrived on a Saturday, packaged in several large boxes. Although the unpacking process wasn’t glamorous (yes, there was a packaging mess), setting it up was straightforward. The clear instructions made it possible to assemble it on my own without much hassle.

Our previous couch had seen better days. It was a bulky three-seater that had been with us for years. Besides the obvious wear and tear, the sagging cushions and the fact that our dogs had gnawed through some of the fabric meant it was time for an upgrade.

I ended up paying $140 to College HUNKS Hauling Junk to take it off our hands. Worth every penny just to clear the space.

What surprised me the most about the CHITA sofa was that, despite having equally spacious seating, its footprint was smaller. This freed up additional space in our living area, giving the room a more open and thoughtfully designed feel.

In about an hour, the sofa was fully assembled. Its appearance? Sleek, modern, and wrapped in a soft cream fabric that perfectly complements the light, coastal vibe I’m aiming for in my living room.

And how does it feel? Truly impressive. The deep cushions are a mix of fiber and sterilized feathers, providing a soft yet supportive experience. The seats are broad enough to snuggle into while maintaining their shape without being too firm. Immediately, my partner and our two dogs found and claimed their favorite spots.

What really sold me, though, is that this particular model includes hidden electric footrests. At first glance, you’d never guess it’s a recliner, but with the push of a button, the footrests quietly (and slowly) glide out, transforming the couch into a lounging station. It’s like having a cozy movie-theater seat wrapped in designer-level fabric.

We already own a CHITA recliner, so I had high expectations. This sofa met them.

The Sophia’s modular design is also a plus. It’s built to adapt, great for smaller spaces or for anyone who might want to rearrange down the line. And the back cushions are removable and reversible, making cleaning or fluffing a breeze.

Final verdict: For under $1,000, the Sophia 2-Piece Feather Modular Sofa delivers premium comfort, sleek design, and functionality you’d expect in a higher price range. If you’re looking to elevate your space without taking on a full remodel, this piece is worth it.
