DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is offering a Coyote Track workshop in Danville next weekend.

The IDNR invites educators to attend an event at the Kennekuk Environmental Education Center in Danville on June 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This session offers insights into coyotes and how they are studied using data from radio-collared coyotes in both rural and urban areas of Illinois.

Attendees will have the chance to explore a data-driven, interactive visualization tool for classroom use to teach about ecology and animal behavior. They will gain knowledge about the reasons and methods behind coyote research statewide, including telemetry and the data collection process.

This workshop targets teachers from the third grade to high school levels. Supported by IDNR, it is a part of the ENTICE (Environment and Nature Training Institute for Conservation Education) program.
