(NEXSTAR) — As dining out becomes more expensive, numerous restaurant chains are introducing value menu options to attract customers. IHOP is the latest to follow this trend, presenting choices that might make you crave maple syrup.

IHOP has launched a value menu where selected meals are priced at $6 at participating locations across the U.S. However, some places might offer these meals for $7. According to a Monday press release, IHOP’s inaugural value menu is available daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We understand our guests are increasingly conscious of value, which is why IHOP’s Value Menu directly caters to their desire for tasty, varied, plentiful, and affordable meals every day of the week,” stated IHOP President Lawrence Kim in the release. He described this initiative as the “beginning of a new era,” aiming to keep guests delighted with the reliable comfort and joy they expect from IHOP.

The menu, found here, includes four breakfast meals, according to IHOP:

  • Breakfast Faves Combo: Two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, and a choice of two strips of bacon or pork sausage links
  • Ham & Cheese Omelette: An omelette with ham and a jack, cheddar, and white cheese sauce, served with two buttermilk pancakes.
  • French Toast Faves Combo: A slice of IHOP’s Thick ‘N Fluffy French Toast, two eggs, and your choice of two bacon strips or pork sausage links.
  • House Scramble: Scrambled eggs with chopped bacon and jack and cheddar cheese, served with hash browns.

According to IHOP, the value menu will be available for a limited time at participating U.S. restaurants.

An examination by Nexstar revealed that at restaurants in cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, and Austin, the value menu offerings were priced at $6. Conversely, locations in cities like San Francisco, New York City, and Portland, Oregon, listed these items at $7. You can verify the pricing at your nearest IHOP online.

Regardless of the cost, the meals are among the cheapest options at IHOP, unless you’re ordering off the kids’ menu.

Dine Brands, the company behind IHOP, along with Applebee’s and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, noted in early August that for the second quarter of 2025, IHOP experienced a sales decline of over 2% compared to the previous year. Dine Brands CEO John Peyton partially attributed this to “growth driven by IHOP’s updated brand strategy and value approach,” citing improvements.

Additionally, the cost of dining out has generally increased. Recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, released earlier this month, indicated that by August, the price of food consumed away from home had risen by nearly 4% compared to the previous year. The month-by-month increase was slight, remaining under half a percent.

Other fast food chains have been turning to discounted menu items as of late. Most recently, McDonald’s began offering Extra Value Meals, with offerings costing 15% less than ordering each of the included items individually.

Within the last year, Domino’s, Applebee’s, Chili’s, and Taco Bell have also offered lower-priced menu items.

Overall U.S. fast food customer traffic fell nearly 1% in the second quarter, according to Revenue Management Solutions, a consulting company. The company said price increases were sharply lower than previous quarters, suggesting that chains are already offering more deals.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
