Illinois Cold Case: New Developments Spark Hope in Solving 1998 Disappearance

PALATINE, Ill. (WGN) Authorities in Illinois are reaching out to the public for assistance in solving a missing person case that has remained a mystery since 1998.

Anthony “Tony” Klama was officially reported missing on November 6, 1998, after he did not arrive for work.

The last confirmed sighting of Klama occurred in Palatine, a suburb of Chicago, the previous night around 11:30 p.m.

Witnesses informed police that they observed him in the vicinity of a vehicle with an unidentified man, who was described as either white or Latino.

Since that night, there has been no further communication or trace of Klama.

Klama was 36 at the time of his disappearance and was 6’1 and weighed around 160 lbs.

He had brown hair, green eyes and a mustache. Klama had Native American-themed tattoos on both arms and on his chest.

On the night he was last seen, he was wearing dark jeans, a blue and white flannel T-shirt and a baseball cap.

In 2014, two “good Samaritans” mailed an anonymous letter to Crime Stoppers about the case.

Police are hoping to speak with them and urge them to come to the department with any information.
