Illinois State Police announce traffic enforcement detail results

In Sangamon County, Illinois, a six-day collaborative traffic enforcement operation led by Illinois State Police resulted in 31 arrests, 385 citations distributed, and the confiscation of 44 pounds of cocaine.

Officials from the State Police indicated that the operation targeted locations known for a high number of fatal crashes, elevated crime rates, organized violent offenders, and structured criminal groups.

The Springfield Police Department and Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office aided in the operation. The results include:

  • 385 citations issued
  • 31 subjects arrested
  • Six firearms seized
  • 52 criminal charges
  • 26 felony charges
  • One recovered stolen vehicle
  • 44 pounds of cocaine seized
  • 1,453 pounds of cannabis seized

“ISP is proud to work with our law enforcement partners to make our community a safer place,” Illinois State Police said.
