Danville storage facility burglar pleads guilty, gets 9 years in prison

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A man is facing multiple counts of possessing child pornography in Vermilion County.

According to court records, Michael Starkey is facing 10 charges, all classified as Class X felonies. The offenses are reported to have occurred in July, with the Illinois State Police as the investigating authority.

The charges against Starkey were filed by the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office on September 5th, coinciding with his court appearance for arraignment. The matter of pretrial detention was addressed on the following Monday.

Starkey was allowed to leave custody with conditions, which included no access to the Internet.

WCIA reached out to the Illinois State Police to learn more about the investigation into Starkey. We have not heard back yet.
