In Greene County, Tenn., Ronald Hale admitted his guilt to a charge of second-degree murder in court on Monday.

Authorities arrested Hale in February 2022 after discovering that Phillip Seay had been fatally shot several times at a home in Greeneville.

Following his guilty plea, Hale received a 17-year prison sentence on Tuesday for the murder of Seay.

Hale initially faced charges of first-degree murder.
