In a concerning development, authorities in Washington County, Tennessee, have detained a Johnson City couple following the discovery of their infant living in what officials described as “deplorable” conditions. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) shared in a news release that deputies collaborated with the Department of Children’s Services (DCS) to safely remove the infant from a residence located in the 1100 block of the area. This intervention underscores the ongoing challenges faced by child welfare agencies in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children.
