JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Johnson City man has been charged with statutory rape following an investigation.

The Johnson City Police Department’s special victims unit (SVU) arrested 19-year-old Devon Tolley on Saturday, Sept. 27, as reported in a news release.

The investigation into Tolley started after the SVU reportedly discovered that he was involved in “an intimate relationship with a minor at least four years younger than him,” according to the release.

Following his indictment by a grand jury, Tolley was apprehended and transferred to the Washington County Detention Center, as stated by the JCPD.
