In an effort to combat food insecurity during the holiday season, Feeding Tampa Bay is extending a warm invitation to families in need for a special Christmas Eve luncheon.
The nonprofit organization will open the doors of the Causeway Center, offering a complimentary meal on Christmas Eve. Guests can enjoy a hearty lunch and also receive additional food to take home, aimed at alleviating some of the financial burdens that often accompany the holidays.
“On Christmas Eve, we’re hosting a brunch here,” explained Thomas Mantz, CEO of Feeding Tampa Bay. “We’ll be serving chicken parmesan with a variety of sides. It’s a wonderful meal designed to unite those who might otherwise struggle to prepare a Christmas Eve dinner.”
This event is part of a larger initiative to support families when expenses and needs typically increase. While attendees are encouraged to reserve a spot online at ftb.org/ChristmasEve to help the team plan accordingly, walk-ins are also welcome.
“If you forget to make a reservation, don’t worry—please still join us,” Mantz reassured. “However, letting our chef team know in advance helps us prepare better for everyone.”
This occasion marks the inaugural Christmas Eve meal at the Causeway Center. Given the success of a Thanksgiving meal previously held at the same location, organizers anticipate a strong turnout for this festive gathering.
“We had entire families come in, sit down and have a meal together. It’s a reminder that everything good in life happens around the table, the people you’re with and the food that you have,” said Mantz.
Feeding Tampa Bay leaders say the Causeway Center has become a hub for community support, exceeding their original hopes. The nonprofit is also seeking donations and volunteers, particularly during the holiday season.
