A man from Jonesborough, Tenn. was taken into custody on several drug-related charges this past Wednesday, based on a report from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).

Deputies reportedly saw a red motorcycle speeding down Old State Route 34 around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The rider is said to have tried to outrun the deputies but was caught on Bill West Road after apparently running out of fuel.

During the chase, deputies claimed to have noticed the man discarding items from his pockets. Authorities later discovered a purple pill container with a substance resembling methamphetamine (0.5 grams); a silver pill container with two pills that appear to be Hydrocodone; and three grams of a green leafy substance presumably marijuana.

The driver was identified as Clark McInturff, 65. He was charged with the following:

  • Evading Arrest
  • Manufacture/Delivery/Sell/Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Driving While in Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Two counts of Simple Possession/Casual Exchange
  • Driving on a Revoked License
  • Expired Registration

He is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $24,000 bond.
