SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Benedictine Military School’s LaDamion Guyton verbally committed to play college football at Texas Tech University on Thursday.

Guyton stands out as a five-star recruit, holding the position of the second-best player nationally for the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is recognized as the top Edge player and ranks first in Georgia in the composite rankings.

In the Benedictine gym, Guyton made his college choice from among hats representing Texas Tech, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina laid out before him. He had also received offers from prestigious programs like Alabama, Florida State, USC, Florida, Miami, LSU, Oregon, and others.

Prior to his commitment, Guyton hadn’t publicly narrowed down his top school choices but selected from the four options present at his announcement ceremony.

During his first two high school years at Savannah Christian Preparatory School, Guyton recorded 134 tackles, 16.5 sacks, and 33 tackles for loss over two seasons.

Guyton is Texas Tech’s first commitment for the 2027 class. He will get his first action as a Benedictine Cadet against Colquitt County next Friday.
