WARRENVILLE, Nc () – Langley Pond boat ramp reopened Friday just in time for the upcoming holiday weekend.

The boat ramp was closed last week because of maintenance but residents are excited to be able to get back out on the water.

I talked to a Beech Island resident who goes to the boat ramp one to two times a week.

Jerren Porphy tells me when the ramp was closed, he was eager to finally be able to get back into the pond.

“If you’re someone who enjoys the outdoors or just appreciates this park in general, having it accessible to the public is fantastic. I was calling the parks manager to inquire about the progress and when it would reopen. I definitely love it, and I feel like many people enjoy coming here. A lot of us, myself included, are thrilled it’s open again,” said Porphy.

An Augusta resident has been going to the boat ramp for the last 15 years,

Phillip Holiday says he loves the environment and that the amenities are free to the public.

“Regarding the facilities and everything, it’s very vital to the community as well. You can see where the money is being invested in the area and how it benefits the park; it’s very significant,” Holiday said.

He loves to go jet skiing with his family and looks forward to the summers when he is able to get out on the water.

“I always come here because instead of going to Clark Hill and other places, this is my preferred spot. It’s beautiful now; you can see for yourself how the park has transformed since the storm. It’s a lovely location,” Holiday added.

Many have been coming out to this boat ramp for years and say they are excited to continue to use it throughout the summer.
