Where’s the beef? Or more specifically, the rib meat?
McDonald’s is currently embroiled in a lawsuit alleging that its famed McRib sandwich lacks actual rib meat.
The legal complaint argues that the McRib’s name and its rib-like appearance mislead consumers into believing they’re savoring genuine pork ribs. In reality, the sandwich is crafted from less desirable pork cuts, such as shoulder and other parts.
In response, McDonald’s has asserted that the McRib consists of 100% seasoned boneless pork, firmly rejecting claims of using inferior-quality meat.
The McRib is a seasonal offering at McDonald’s, often backed by extensive advertising campaigns during its brief availability.
