In the face of uncertainty surrounding the future of SNAP benefits and funding, a community in Central Illinois has stepped up with a temporary solution to support its residents. In LeRoy, the City Council has introduced a provisional food assistance program designed to offer relief during this period of ambiguity.

Residents of LeRoy who wish to benefit from this program can apply at City Hall. Once approved, they will receive vouchers that can currently be redeemed at Kirby Foods (IGA). The city has plans to expand the program, potentially allowing the vouchers to be used at Dollar General in the future.
