Lightning strike causes building fire in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – A lightning strike caused a building to catch on fire in northeast Oklahoma City overnight.

Officials say fire crews responded to the building on Britton Rd. near Kelley Ave. after a affiliate KFOR photographer saw the strike and called 911 Tuesday night.

“The lightning strike was so bright, I felt my heart drop a little bit,” said Isaac Korstjens. “A flash and then literally within one minute, I’m down the road with a building on fire.”

Firefighters were able to get the flames knocked down quickly and no injuries have been reported.
