This morning on Trooper Steve on Patrol, we’re heading to Boggy Creek Road for a live stream. A viewer contacted us with some typical concerns for Central Florida roads: the chaos of rush hour, bewildering construction, and speeding in neighborhoods.
Let’s talk about the mess at Boggy Creek and Simpson/Narcoossee.
Local drivers are all too familiar with these issues. As Boggy Creek nears Simpson Road, it has two right-turn lanes and one lane for going straight. During busy times, the lane for continuing straight can have backups stretching almost a mile.
What happens next?
Unfortunately, some drivers misuse the right-turn lanes as a way to skip the line and then recklessly cut into the traffic moving straight ahead. This isn’t just aggravating—it’s also hazardous.
Now toss in some construction confusion.
Recently, a construction crew put up a “No Left Turn” sign at Morningside Drive. The problem? For residents trying to get into their own neighborhood from that side, that’s the only direct way in. The detour forces them to loop around much farther down the road. Understandably, they’re fed up.
And what’s going on inside the neighborhood?
Speeding. Lots of it. According to our viewer, it’s not just cars — they’ve seen ATVs flying down the residential roads at speeds pushing 40 mph.
“I don’t even like walking to my mailbox,” they said. That’s a problem no one should have to deal with in their own community.
Today, we’ll visit the area and take a closer look.
From traffic issues to speeding in neighborhoods, this is the kind of real-life concern that impacts everyday quality of life. We’ll be going live to see how drivers are behaving, and maybe — just maybe — shine a light on areas that could use a little extra attention from traffic planners and local enforcement.
Join us on the live stream. Let’s talk traffic, safety, and the changes our neighbors are hoping to see.
