The governor’s Farmland Preservation Tour will take him across the Volunteer State and will pay homage to the state’s history rooted in agriculture.

“This week marks the beginning of a special time for our country and state as we approach the 250th anniversary of American independence,” Lee stated in a news release. “One of Tennessee’s greatest contributions to America’s success is the strength of our agricultural industry, and I’m proud to honor our rich heritage and commitment to preserving family farms for future generations by signing the Farmland Preservation Act.”

Lee will visit historic farms in Greene, Williamson, and Tipton counties to participate in ceremonial signings of the Farmland Preservation Act. This legislation establishes permanent conservation measures for farmland and provides grant funding for farmers.

More events will be scheduled throughout the year. Information about upcoming events and the statewide, year-long celebration can be found online.
