KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Engage Tri-Cities, a local non-profit, organized a block party in the Lynn Garden area on Wednesday, as part of Fun Fest festivities.

The event was free to all who wanted to attend and featured snow cones, inflatables, food and water slides.

Director of Engage Tri-Cities Jonathan Anderson told News Channel 11 that his organization partnered with ETSU Athletics to host games and giveaways.

“This marks our third year hosting the Fun Fest Block Party for the Lynn Garden community,” a spokesperson stated. “Tonight, we’ve got KPD’s K-9 units joining us, along with waterslides, bouncy houses, and a beach hut. ETSU Athletics is here too, and a few local churches have come to participate as well. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Anderson said one of his favorite parts about hosting the event is seeing local kids enjoy their summer.

“We have a strong connection to the Lynn Garden neighborhood. Our goal is to support this community in any way we can. It’s wonderful to see children enjoying the waterslides and bouncy houses, and they really love watching the K-9 dog demonstrations.”
