After being released from ICE custody, Mahmoud Khalil expressed his gratitude towards his supporters and pledged to keep advocating for Palestinian rights. He claimed his detention was an attempt to stifle pro-Palestinian voices. Khalil criticized the U.S. and Columbia University for what he termed as their support for a genocide occurring in Gaza. He asserted that his release demonstrates the failure of attempts to quash the movement.
