Authorities detained a man after he allegedly commandeered an airport cart and crashed it through the moving walkways at Buffalo Niagara International Airport in New York.

Kevin J. Sinning, 29, of Wyoming, was arrested just before 1 a.m. Monday by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Police Department.

Surveillance footage captured him entering an unattended Prime Flight cart and navigating it through the moving walkways, causing the glass panels to shatter and damaging the cart, according to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.

Video shared by a witness on Facebook showed someone slowly driving the cart up and down the airport hallways.

One image depicted the damage to the moving walkways, with the metal beams at the bottom twisted and displaced as a result of the vehicle’s impact.

In a later part of the video, the driver attempts to go down another moving walkway. Despite the cart being too large, he forces it forward, with the sound of metal grinding, leaving shattered glass behind.

He appeared “visibly intoxicated” when he was arrested by officers at the end of the walkway, officials said.

There were no reported injuries.

Sinning faces charges of second-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, criminal possession of stolen property worth more than $3,000, criminal nuisance, and third-degree grand larceny.

He declined to comment Friday.
