A man was apprehended on Tuesday by the Danville Police Department for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident earlier this month, which left a victim in “serious condition” in Decatur, Ill.
Danville police arrived at the scene near North Vermilion and Green Streets at around 10 p.m. on July 5, where they encountered a 30-year-old man from Danville who had sustained a gunshot wound. Following an investigation, authorities discovered that the incident occurred on the northwest side of the Churchill Towers Apartments situated on East Seminary Street.
After continued investigation, detectives gathered sufficient evidence to issue an arrest warrant, according to the Danville Police Department. On July 15, Isacc Forest, aged 27 from Westchester, was apprehended in Park Forest by the United States Marshals Service. Forest faces charges including two counts of aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm as a repeat offender, and one count of possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
The Danville Police Department said all people are considered innocent until proven guilty.
