PINEY FLATS, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Piney Flats man faces attempted first-degree murder and other charges after a stabbing on Monday, police report.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) announced in a news release that deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Piney Flats Road shortly after 10 p.m. in response to a reported stabbing.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the suspect, identified as James Dylan Murray. Meanwhile, the victim was transported to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention for their injuries, according to the SCSO.
Murray, 20, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Attempted first-degree murder
- Aggravated assault
- Reckless endangerment
- Criminal attempt
As of Tuesday, no bond has been set for Murray. He’s scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
