SOUTH APOPKA, Fla. – According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a man discovered with “obvious signs of trauma” early Sunday in South Apopka has passed away.

The sheriff’s office reported that deputies located the man while responding around 3:30 a.m. to the vicinity of the intersection of E. Ella J. Gilmore Street and Clarcona Road.

Deputies stated that the man — believed to be between 18 and 20 years old — was transported to a local hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead, according to the statement.

An investigation is said to be in its early stages, according to the sheriff’s office, which described the man’s death as a homicide.

No further details were immediately available.
