PORT ORANGE, Fla. – A man was sent to the hospital after being shot by Port Orange police on Monday, according to a news release.

Police report that they are present at Chamale Lane and Kerry Court due to an officer-involved shooting after an emergency response to a “suicidal individual at a residence.”

Officials did not say what circumstances led to the shooting, however.

The victim, only identified as an adult male, was taken to the hospital for treatment. No information on the victim’s condition was given.

No officers were injured, according to the release.

“No further information on the male subject at this time, pending further investigation and family notification,” police said in their release.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
