BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has launched an investigation after recovering the body of a Maryville man from Fort Loudoun Lake on Friday morning.

Officials from the TWRA responded to a call about a potential drowning near George’s Creek around 11:18 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a man floating face down in the water with an unmanned boat circling close by.

The victim was recovered by the Blount County Rescue Squad, while wildlife officers brought the boat, a Ranger bass boat, to a stop.

The victim was taken to UT Medical Center in Knoxville, where he was pronounced dead. He was identified by TWRA as Terry Alexander, 63, of Maryville.
