1,400 pound black steer stolen in Whiteside County

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the disappearance of a 1,400-pound black steer taken from a farm located in the rural area between Morrison and Fulton.

Authorities suspect the animal was taken in the past few days. They are actively following potential leads, which include checking local areas for clues and examining surveillance footage.

“The theft of livestock represents not only a significant financial burden to farmers but also affects the core of our rural communities,” stated Sheriff John Booker of Whiteside County. “We are dedicated to following every lead to retrieve the steer and bring those involved to justice.”
