Toyota is recalling more than 400,000 of its Toyota Tundra and Toyota Tundra Hybrid vehicles due to a potential issue with the reverse lights, which may reduce visibility.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recall notice, up to 443,444 vehicles from the 2022-2025 model years could be affected. The issue arises from moisture potentially entering the reverse lights, leading to their malfunction.
The issue may potentially fail to adequately warn pedestrians behind the vehicle that a driver is backing up, NHTSA explains.
Recalled vehicles:
- 2022-25 Toyota Tundra
- 2022-25 Toyota Tundra Hybrid
Toyota plans to notify known owners about the recall beginning June 30. In the meantime, owners can reach out to Toyota customer service or visit a dealership. The NHTSA indicates that dealers will replace the reverse light assemblies and conduct additional necessary repairs at no cost.
Toyota’s numbers for this recall are 24TB06 and 24TA06.
