The Turning Point USA chapter at the University of South Carolina held a vigil and memorial ceremony on Monday evening in honor of the organization’s founder, Charlie Kirk, who was tragically assassinated on September 10, 2025.

The service was packed and filled with students, faculty, members of the community, and even children.

The evening commenced with a memorial service attended by a full house in a ballroom at the student union. Participants, comprising members of the Turning Point chapter, delivered speeches, performed songs, and shared both tears and laughter as they paid tribute to Kirk, who had served as their inspirational leader.

Many attendees recounted personal anecdotes about Charlie Kirk, committing themselves to carrying on his mission and striving to make him proud.

“Charlie Kirk wouldn’t have backed down; he would have continued with even greater resolve, and he would have asked us to do the same. His battle is now ours,” stated Dylan Baldassarre, Turning Point USA’s Field Representative.

The night ended with thousands of people joined together for a candle light vigil in the exact same place Kirk visited USC in April.
