NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) New York City Mayor Eric Adams is determined to stay in the race for reelection, asserting he has no plans to withdraw.

Adams’ spokesperson, Todd Shapiro, told local affiliate WPIX that all rumors of the incumbent dropping out of the race are “complete b—-.”

“These falsehoods are being circulated by rivals without Mayor Adams’ strong record, vigorous campaign efforts, or extensive support across New York City,” Shapiro explained.

A WPIX poll recently indicated that Adams is lagging behind with 7%, with Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani leading at 43%, followed by Independent Andrew Cuomo at 28%, and Republican Curtis Sliwa at 10%.

Shapiro made his statement on Sunday, shortly after New York Governor Kathy Hochul endorsed Mamdani in an op-ed for the New York Times.

“The campaign is alive, strong, and fully engaged just like the mayor himself,” Shapiro said.
