Who is Rama Duwaji? Meet NYC's first Gen Z first lady

Rama Duwaji, poised to become New York City’s first Gen Z first lady, is set to make history alongside her husband, Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. Though largely remaining out of the public eye, the 28-year-old has been instrumental behind the scenes.

Duwaji played a pivotal role in crafting the visual identity of Mamdani’s campaign. As reported by CNN, she was responsible for selecting the campaign’s signature color scheme of yellow, orange, and blue, as well as its bold iconography and distinctive font, elements that became synonymous with his political brand. Her influence extended to enhancing Mamdani’s digital strategy and social media presence, offering steadfast support during his ascent in politics.

While she didn’t participate in debates or major public engagements before Election Day, Duwaji remained a steadfast supporter of her husband throughout his campaign journey.
