SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — An 11-year-old San Jose boy, Noah Alhayek, was missing in the Bay Area for eight days. On Monday evening on Aug. 11, Noah was found, the boy’s mother tells local affiliate KRON.

Noah was found on Treasure Island in San Francisco, according to his mom. The mom and her older son were on the island putting up flyers of Noah.

Noah was reported missing to the San Jose Police Department after he left his group home on foot in East San Jose on August 4, police said.

Noah’s mother, Crystal Nieland, said her son has mental health challenges and has been known to “link up” with older children from troubled backgrounds without “realizing the danger he is in.”

Nieland said her son was spotted on a train at San Francisco’s Union Square station, and he was asking about how to get to Treasure Island on August 7.

“When he was seen last, he had a Razor scooter with him. He was still wearing the same clothes that he went missing in on August 4 … gray sweatpants with pockets on the sides, white shoes, dark blue jacket,” the mother told KRON4.

SJPD said the missing boy also carried a gray and blue checkered backpack.

Noah, who is 5’2″ tall and weighs 90 pounds, had gone missing in the past, police said. “On a prior missing person case, he was located in the city of Colma,” SJPD wrote.
