Nancy Mace bringing 'Trump in high heels' mindset to governor's run

() Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace made a name for herself fighting the transgender issue. And now, she’s hoping she can ride that wave into the South Carolina governor’s mansion.

Mace launched her gubernatorial bid this morning at her alma mater, the Citadel in Charleston.

So far, Mace is doing well in the polls, leading by a slim margin over South Carolina’s Attorney General Alan Wilson. However, 52% of citizens remain undecided.

Mace tells “On Balance” she’s running and is looking forward to bringing her “Trump in high heels” mindset for 2026.

“To follow President Trump’s agenda, we have a real opportunity in 2026 to deliver America-first policy state by state in the midterm elections,” Mace said. “We need governors who are going to take that lead and implement those policies.”

Mace added that South Carolina, being the bright red state it is, had a sanctuary sheriff who last year went rogue and was letting illegal aliens who are rapists, murderers and pedophiles out into the state.

She says those are the issues worth pushing for change in her run.

“These fights are worth fighting for, whether we’re talking about illegal immigration or men and women’s spaces or, in my case, in the state of South Carolina, we have the highest state income tax in the southeast.”

“There’s nothing combative about wanting a bigger, better and brighter future for the entire state of South Carolina.”

Mace is hoping to get the endorsement of President Trump, even going on to describe him as the key to success in any race.

“I mean, he is a kingmaker, in this case, a possible queenmaker in the race for governor of South Carolina,” she said. “We’re also unveiling policies that Donald Trump, I believe, will support, and we’re going to work hard to earn his endorsement, to earn support.”
