BUCHANAN COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — Authorities took three people into custody on Friday in the Rowe area of Buchanan County. This follows a police operation where illegal drugs and assets suspected to be bought with drug money were found, as reported by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon carrying out a search warrant, officials from the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office stated that they recovered “large amounts of illegal narcotics,” which encompassed fentanyl, mushrooms, cocaine, and marijuana.
Moreover, they seized several items suspected to be purchased with funds from illegal drug transactions, which included five cars, three motorcycles, a utility side-by-side vehicle, two trailers, and multiple firearms.
As a result, three individuals were taken into custody:
· Joseph Cyle Keen, 65 years old of Rowe, VA
· Wanda Lou Keen, 65 years old of Rowe, VA
· Nicholas Cyle Keen, 38 years old of Rowe, VA
Each individual was charged with one count of Distribution of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance and one count of Conspiracy to Distribute a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance.
Additional charges are expected as the investigation progresses. Further details regarding the quantities of narcotics recovered and the estimated value of seized assets will be released next week, according to the sheriff’s office.
The three individuals are being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority Haysi Facility. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for July 7.
