The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for two types of peaches grown in California due to concerns over potential listeria contamination. This recall affects fresh white, yellow, and “peppermint” peaches distributed by Moonlight Companies and also sold under the Kroger brand in various stores across the United States.
These peaches were available for purchase both individually and in multi-packs from September 16 to October 29, 2025. Consumers should be vigilant when checking their fruit purchases, particularly looking for PLU stickers numbered 4401 and 4044 on individually sold peaches. The FDA’s recall notice also provides specific lot numbers and UPC codes for multi-pack products.
It’s important to note that peaches labeled with “Washington” or “Organic” are not included in this recall, according to the FDA. This clarification may help consumers distinguish between potentially affected fruit and safe options.
