More details revealed in weekend Campustown shooting


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A weekend shooting on the University of Illinois campus has left one man in serious but stable condition. Authorities have arrested 18-year-old Decoven Stephens of Urbana in connection with the incident, according to the University of Illinois Police Department.

Stephens was apprehended at his residence on Monday morning. Lead investigator, Ryan Snow, reported that the firearm believed to be used in the crime was retrieved during the arrest. The gun, illegally possessed and used by Stephens, had its serial numbers tampered with, adding to the list of charges against him.
