New Mexico police ask for help in search of man missing for 4 years

CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) The Clovis Police Department is seeking assistance from the community to locate a person who disappeared four years ago during a trip from Clovis to Portales.

The CPD reported that James Sneed, 55, vanished on the night of Oct. 7, 2021, as he traveled from Clovis to Portales. His truck was discovered abandoned the next day near State Road 267 and Roosevelt County Road X, west of Portales.

On Oct. 13, 2021, officials issued a Silver Alert due to Sneed’s age and health issues. The Clovis Police Department, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, New Mexico State Police, and local citizens from Clovis and Portales conducted multiple searches.

Sneed was last seen in a white shirt or pull-over sweatshirt with red and blue letters and blue Nike gym shorts. He is 6`4″, weighs approximately 260 pounds, frequently wears glasses, and has gold front teeth.
