LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — A permanent exhibit celebrating the legacy of a Clearwater family opened in Pinellas County on Wednesday.

This week, the Turner Bungalow was revealed at Heritage Village, situated at 11909 125th Street N., marked by a ceremony with speeches from County Commission Chairman Brian Scott and Monica Drake, the historical museum operations manager.

Initially situated in Clearwater, the Turner Bungalow was gifted to Pinellas County in 2014 by Geraldine “Jere” Turner to celebrate her family’s history.

Restoration efforts took place from 2021 to 2023, preserving the bungalow’s original features such as the flooring, fireplace, walls and woodwork.

The exhibit itself offers a window into the Turners’ daily lives, reflecting the 1940s—a time of growth and change for the family.

The Heritage Village museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is free and open to all.
