Newsom teases MAGA-like campaign merchandise

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently hinted at campaign merchandise similar to former President Trump’s MAGA items in a social media post on Friday. This move aligns with Newsom’s recent pattern of imitating the former president’s style on social media platforms.

“NEW MERCH COMING SOON! YOU’RE WELCOME, PATRIOTS!” Newsom wrote in a post on the social platform X, with several American flag emojis.

The post featured a photo of a red hat similar to ones the Trump campaign sells, with white print that reads “NEWSOM WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!”

Trump, earlier on Friday, was seen in the White House wearing a red hat with the words “TRUMP WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!”

Recognized as a possible contender for the 2028 presidential race, Newsom has started engaging in online banter similar to Trump, using the same all-caps style and language in his posts on X, reminiscent of Trump’s posts on his Truth Social Platform.

“WOW!!! MY MAPS (THE BEST MAPS EVER MADE) WILL SOON BE PASSED BY THE MOST AMAZING LEGISLATURE WORLDWIDE (NOT JUST IN AMERICA). AMERICA CAN THANK ME (GAVIN C. NEWSOM) ALONG WITH TWO INCREDIBLE PEOPLE MAGIC MIKE & RAINMAKER ROBERT, WHO LEAD THE LEGISLATURE LIKE TOTAL LEGENDS!!!” wrote Newsom in a post issued through his press office on X.

“PEOPLE ARE ALREADY SHOUTING ‘MAMA! MAMA!’ AND I REPLY, ‘NO, I AM YOUR DADDY!!!’” Newsom continued. “THE GOLDEN ERA STARTS IN THE GOLDEN STATE, ALL BECAUSE OF ME, THE PEOPLE’S GOVERNOR, THE CARTOGRAPHER-IN-CHIEF, WHO IS NOW LETTING THE PEOPLE VOTE!!! THANK YOU, USA!!!”

The governor of California has assumed an important role in his party by challenging the Trump administration, notably in the ongoing redistricting struggles.

Newsom has spearheaded the initiative to introduce a new set of congressional districts to voters in California, aiming to counterbalance possible Republican gains when Texas enacts their new House map. His actions have elevated him on the national stage, potentially positioning him for a presidential run in 2028.
