The son of “Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus was arrested and charged following an alleged assault in a New York City apartment on Saturday.

Mingus Reedus, aged 25, entered a plea of not guilty on Saturday to five charges, as indicated by court documents. The charges against the model include third-degree assault, reckless assault causing injury, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree harassment, and aggravated harassment.

The New York Police Department reported that officers were called to an active assault in the Chelsea area of Manhattan at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday. A 33-year-old woman was found with “minor injuries” to her neck and leg.

She was transported to Bellevue Hospital and Mingus Reedus was taken into custody, police said.

In a statement to NBC News on Sunday, Reedus’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, asserted that her client’s innocence would become obvious as more information about the case came to light.

“The prosecutor’s court statements, which are not considered evidence, are contrasted by their decision to charge Mingus with only misdemeanors or lesser offenses,” Chaudhry stated. “This situation speaks volumes far more clearly than the unsupported statements made by the prosecutor in court.”

She also noted that the judge released Mingus Reedus on his own recognizance, “with neither bail nor supervision.”

Mingus Reedus is the offspring of Norman Reedus and model Helena Christensen. According to E! News, he accepted a plea agreement in 2022 following accusations of assaulting a woman during the San Gennaro festival in New York City’s Little Italy.
