Food banks throughout the region are gearing up to support SNAP users amid uncertainties surrounding the potential conclusion of the government shutdown. The resumption of full SNAP benefit payouts is on the horizon, prompting food pantries to ensure their shelves are well-stocked with essential items. In a concerted effort, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee has joined forces with 110 local organizations to facilitate the distribution of non-perishable goods to those in need.
