OCALA, Fla. – Authorities are seeking more information following the fatal shooting of a man during what appears to have been a break-in over the weekend.

According to an official statement, the incident unfolded late Saturday night, just before midnight.

The police report indicates that they received a call from an individual claiming to have shot a man attempting to enter his home unlawfully.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered Cristian Leiva, 28, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Leiva did not survive his injuries.
